He called me to let me know that he was running late, and when he did come to my home, he was gracious and apologized for having inconvenienced me. As it turned out, I had things to do that required me to be at home anyway, so the inconvenience was minimal; however, I appreciate very much his thoughtfulness and his respect for my time.
